Israel Threatens Houthis with “Heavy Price” if They Respond to Any U.S. Strike on Iran

Yemen Monitor / Occupied Jerusalem:

Israel’s military and political leadership threatened the Houthi group in Yemen and Iran on Thursday, warning they would pay an “immediate and heavy price” if any retaliatory attacks are carried out in response to a potential U.S. strike against Tehran. They emphasized that the “finger is on the trigger” to confront any change in the operational status of pro-Iranian factions.

IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir and Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed that Israel will not hesitate to respond harshly to any targeting it may face. Katz cited Israel’s success in assassinating several senior Houthi leaders, considering those operations a “down payment” for what could be an even stricter response if the group launches an attack following U.S. military action against Iran.

In a related context, the Jerusalem Post quoted informed sources stating that the US might “eventually” launch an attack on Iran, but ruled out it occurring in the next few days despite escalating global media “noise.”

Sources indicated that U.S. President Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision, despite his frustration with recent Iranian negotiating positions, which increases the likelihood of a military option.

According to Israeli officials, much of the circulated reporting reflects the general impressions of Trump administration officials following a stalled round of negotiations and does not necessarily indicate that the threshold for imminent military action has been crossed. They suggested that the current noise is intended to pressure Tehran to adhere to the specified deadline (two weeks) to present a new offer.
