Hadramawt’s Security Vows Strict Legal Action Against Agitators, Declaring: “The Country is in a State of Emergency”

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Security Committee of the Hadramawt Valley and Desert expressed its deep dissatisfaction with the “irresponsible behavior” that accompanied a march called for by the Auxiliary Body of the Southern Transitional Council (STC)—referred to as “dissolved”—in the Hadramawt Valley and Desert.

The Committee pointed out that the call did not adhere to the regulations governing the issuance of permits and licensing requests, making the organizing entity fully responsible for the resulting consequences. Despite this, military and security authorities dealt with the march in a spirit of national responsibility to avoid any clash or confrontation with the participants, considering them “sons and brothers.”

The Committee explained that the country is passing through a state of emergency that requires stabilizing security, ensuring stability, and unifying the ranks of Hadramawt ’s people to overcome the negative effects the governorate has witnessed over the past months.

It emphasized that those working to secure Hadramawt —across its coast, valley, and desert—are all its own people, including the Public Security, the Nation’s Shield Forces (Dir’ al-Watan), and other security agencies.

The Committee stressed that it will not tolerate those who attempt to disturb public peace, incite riots, or assault security apparatuses, state facilities, or public and private interests, and will take strict measures against them.

Finally, the Committee warned all components, parties, and groups that emergency law is in effect throughout the country. It stated that the authority of the law will take firm action against agitators and those behind them, and will bring them to justice.
