Britain and the IMF Urge Expedited Formation of New Yemeni Government

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The British Embassy in Yemen and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have affirmed their support for economic priorities and the expedited formation of the new government in Yemen.
British Ambassador to Yemen Abda Sharif discussed with the IMF Resident Representative ways to enhance joint cooperation in supporting economic priorities.
In a post on her account on the “X” platform, Sharif stated that both parties agreed on the importance of having a new Yemeni government to foster strong cooperation for economic stability and recovery.
It is worth noting that the new Prime Minister-designate, Shaae Al-Zandani, has taken approximately 20 days since his appointment as Prime Minister to present his government formation as soon as possible. The calls to accelerate the announcement of the government during the British Ambassador’s meeting highlight that the governmental delay has become unjustifiable.
