Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
An official government source confirmed the continuation of intensive consultations conducted by Prime Minister Dr. Shay’a Mohsen al-Zindani to form a new technocratic government (government of competencies), with an official announcement expected within the next few days.
According to the state-run Saba News Agency, Dr. al-Zindani aims for the government to be capable of keeping pace with the requirements of the exceptional phase the country is undergoing. The goal is to respond to citizens’ aspirations by restoring the effectiveness of state institutions and improving overall performance.
The source explained that consultations are ongoing to select a homogenous government team capable of working with a sense of national responsibility. This process aims to strengthen the principle of national partnership and ensure representation that reflects competence, experience, and the ability to deliver results.
The source noted that the selection process, guided by the directives of His Excellency the Head of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Muhammad al-Alimi, is based on clear and strict criteria, primarily:
- Integrity and professional competence.
- Practical experience and a clean administrative record.
- Commitment to institutional work.
- The ability to implement government priorities and reform programs, particularly regarding economic, service, and security sectors, to alleviate citizen suffering.
The source emphasized that recent developments require a government capable of making bold and responsible decisions, bearing the burdens of the current stage, and working in high coordination with the Presidential Leadership Council and local authorities to enhance stability and restore trust between the state and society.
The source praised the continuous brotherly support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Yemen and its legitimate leadership. This support has been a fundamental pillar in strengthening the stability of state institutions and assisting the government in facing economic, security, and service challenges, stemming from the Kingdom’s keenness for the government to perform its duties efficiently to serve the security of Yemen and the region.
