Nation’s Shield Forces Deploy to Al-Mahrah Border Regions with Saudi Arabia

Today, Sunday, in Al-Mahrah Governorate (Eastern Yemen), the Nation’s Shield Forces (Dir’ Al-Watan) took over the Al-Kharkhir border camp site on the frontier with the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from the Third Brigade of the Yemeni Emergency Forces.

According to a military source, the handed-over sites include the Al-Kharkhir camp, Al-Dahiya, and their affiliated centers located in the northern desert of Al-Mahrah Governorate, adjacent to the Saudi border.

The handover process took place in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Fifth Brigade of the Nation’s Shield Forces in Al-Mahrah, Colonel Salem Sadiq bin Maytan. He emphasized that the deployment of the Nation’s Shield Forces to these border points and sites—in accordance with the tasks assigned by the political leadership—is intended to raise the level of security readiness and ensure border protection.

He further noted that the Nation’s Shield Forces will operate with high levels of coordination with relevant authorities to protect national interests and support state efforts in consolidating security and combating smuggling.
