“Integration and Deployment”: Yemeni Official Reveals Details of Military and Security Restructuring

Major General Mohammad Musaed al-Amir, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for the Security and Police Sector in Yemen, announced significant progress in the restructuring of military and security forces and the unification of security and military decision-making, under the direct supervision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In statements to Al Jazeera, Al-Amir explained that the Higher Military Commission has begun implementing a package of organizational measures aimed at rebuilding security and military institutions. He noted that these measures included:
- Preparing new organizational structures.
- Integrating formations established outside state institutions into a unified official framework.
He added that the committee continues to work practically on the ground to strengthen this path and unify efforts between the Ministries of Interior and Defense by establishing a Joint Operations Command to coordinate field operations.
Al-Amir confirmed that more than 80% of the integration and redeployment operations have been carried out so far in Aden Governorate. This includes:
- Evacuating several military camps.
- Redeploying the Giants Brigade (Al-Amaliqa) and Nation’s Shield (Dir’ al-Watan) forces according to approved plans.
He clarified that there is an integrated security plan overseen by the Ministry of Interior to enhance security and stability in Aden, neighboring governorates, and liberated provinces in general.
The Undersecretary emphasized that the Higher Military Commission has completed all procedures regarding the organizational structure and the integration of personnel within the Ministries of Defense and Interior, while working to unify salaries and human resources between the two institutions.
He concluded by asserting that no military or security unit will remain outside the framework of the two ministries in the coming phase, noting that there are serious and actual measures in place to restore state institutions and extend their control over Aden and the rest of the liberated governorates.
