Destruction of 327 Kilograms of Drugs in Marib

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
On Tuesday, in Marib Governorate (eastern Yemen), 327 kilograms of hashish were destroyed after being seized by the military and security services in the governorate.
The drugs were destroyed by the Appeals Prosecution of the Third Military Region of the Yemeni Army, in the presence of the Commander of the Third Military Region, Major General Mansour Thawabeh; the Deputy Governor of Marib for Defense and Security Affairs, Major General Nasser Raqeeb; the Deputy Director of the Military Judiciary Department at the Ministry of Defense, Judge Mohammed Al-Jaafari; the Head of the Appeals Prosecution of the Region, Judge Salah Al-Qumairi; and the Commander of the Military Police Branch in the governorate, Brigadier Naji Munif.
Thawabeh confirmed that drugs represent part of the tools of war waged by the Houthi group against Yemeni society, noting that monitoring and seizure operations are ongoing to pursue smuggling gangs affiliated with the militia that seek to flood liberated areas with these poisons.
He pointed to the successive successes in intercepting drug shipments, reflecting the high level of vigilance and professionalism demonstrated by army and security personnel at various checkpoints and military sites. He stressed that these watchful eyes will not allow any poisons to pass that threaten the social fabric or undermine public tranquility in liberated areas.
The commander of the Third Military Region renewed his assertion that the battle against the Houthis is a moral and national one aimed at protecting Yemeni youth from Iranian poisons. Combating them, he said, is at the top of the political and military leadership’s priorities, as they are considered a weapon no less dangerous than conventional arms in the war against the Yemeni people.
