Hadramawt National Council: Saudi Arabia is a Strategic Partner; its Projects Build Yemen’s Future

The Secretary-General of the Hadramawt National Council (HNC), Issam al-Kathiri, emphasized that the projects launched by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY)—totaling $1.9 billion—are an extension of Saudi Arabia’s continuous support for Yemen.

In a statement to the Saudi newspaper Okaz, al-Kathiri explained that these projects cover vital sectors such as health, education, energy, and infrastructure, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to improving the living conditions of Yemeni citizens.

He noted that this step expresses the depth of the brotherly relations between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, reflecting the Kingdom’s steadfast vision in supporting the Yemeni people.

Al-Kathiri praised the support provided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, for their positive impact on the stability of Hadramawt and Yemen.

He affirmed that the Hadramawt National Council views Saudi Arabia as a strategic partner and a true supporter, as its projects contribute to consolidating stability and building a better future for the people of Hadramawt and Yemen.

In a separate statement, the Council noted that the announced projects will directly improve the level of services and living conditions for citizens and enhance sustainable development.

The Council expressed its appreciation for the Saudi role in supporting Yemen, stressing that this support reflects the Kingdom’s keenness to stand by the Yemeni people and support their development paths.
