Expanded Meeting in Al-Mukalla to Prepare for Hadramawt’s Participation in the “Comprehensive Southern Dialogue”

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadramawt, Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, held an expanded meeting today in the city of Al-Mukalla. The meeting was attended by representatives of political parties, political components, social figures, and civil society organizations.

This meeting is part of the preparations for participation in the Comprehensive Southern Dialogue, which is supported by the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, Al-Khanbashi emphasized the importance of unifying the Hadrami vision and ensuring the governorate’s representation in a fair manner that corresponds to its political and economic status.

He stressed the necessity of forming a preparatory committee to prepare a comprehensive document that reflects Hadramawt’s legitimate demands and strengthens its presence in the upcoming political entitlements.

For his part, the First Undersecretary of Hadramawt Governorate, Amr bin Habrish Al-Alyi, affirmed the importance of Hadramawt obtaining its fair share of wealth and power within any acceptable political settlement. He pointed out the necessity of Hadrami unity and prioritizing the public interest at this sensitive stage.

The meeting witnessed extensive discussions on involving all components in formulating decisions related to Hadramawt and responsibly dealing with the current political developments. The importance of reinforcing the Hadrami identity and agreeing on the governorate’s shared rights was also emphasized.

At the end of the meeting, the Governor of Hadramawt was authorized to form a preparatory committee to prepare a comprehensive document reflecting the consensus of all political and societal forces in preparation for participation in the Comprehensive Southern Dialogue.
