Al-Zandani Appointed as Yemeni Prime Minister and Tasked with Forming a New Government

The Head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council issued a decision today appointing Dr. Shaea Mohsen Al-Zandani as Prime Minister and tasking him with forming a government, following the resignation of the previous government headed by Salem Saleh bin Bureik.

This decision comes within the framework of ongoing political arrangements to reconstitute the executive authority, aligning with the requirements of the current phase, the political and economic challenges facing the country, and continuous efforts to restore state institutions and enhance governmental effectiveness.

The decision stipulated that the current government will continue to carry out its duties, excluding appointments and dismissals, until the formation of the new government is completed. The decision is effective from the date of its issuance and publication in the Official Gazette.

The upcoming period is expected to witness intensive consultations to form a government capable of addressing economic and service-related files and implementing reform priorities, amid the exceptional circumstances following the recent wave of events.
