“Nation’s Shield” Forces Take Control of Vital Facilities in Aden

Yemen Monitor / Aden / Exclusive:
Yemen’s temporary capital, Aden, witnessed a field update to the security situation today following the arrival of units from the “Nation’s Shield” forces in the city. According to local sources speaking to Yemen Monitor, five brigades have begun deploying from two main axes: the Al-Alam checkpoint and the Al-Fuyush direction.
The sources confirmed that the forces have taken control of vital facilities, the port, and police stations, while maintaining their positioning inside military camps to avoid provoking citizens. Military insignia were not removed at some sites in order to avoid provoking supporters of the STC.
The sources added that the forces succeeded in arresting cells that attempted to stir chaos. Overall calm prevails in Aden, with residents seen going about their daily lives normally, including activity in parks, shopping centers, and regular vehicle movement.
This update comes days after the withdrawal of STC forces, including the “Storm Forces” and the “Presidential Protection,” from various districts of Aden, and the arrival of units from the Nation’s Shield forces as part of a plan prepared by the Presidential Leadership Council to secure the city and protect government institutions and sovereign facilities.
