After Presidential Warnings, STC Reopens Aden Road After Days of Closure to Travelers

Yemen Monitor / Lahj / Exclusive:
Forces affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council (STC) reopened the road on Monday morning to travelers coming from northern governorates to the temporary capital, Aden, after several days of closure.
Activist Abdullah Khalidi wrote on his personal Facebook account that the Taiz–Aden, Al-Farsha–Aden, and Al-Dhalea–Aden routes are now open to civilian movement following the warning issued by the Yemeni presidency yesterday.
Earlier, the Aden Security Committee announced that no restrictions had been imposed on the entry of travelers into the city, stressing its commitment to citizens’ constitutionally guaranteed rights, including freedom of movement and travel, and affirming that crossings are being conducted in a normal and organized manner.
On Sunday, a responsible source at the Office of the Presidency stated that the state leadership is closely monitoring the measures imposed by formations affiliated with the STC, which involved restricting the movement of citizens coming from several governorates to the temporary capital, Aden, and preventing them from passing through major entrances to the city.
The source called on the STC to immediately and unconditionally lift all restrictions imposed on citizens’ movement, respect the mandates of state institutions, and avoid any unilateral measures that could harm public interests or challenge the state’s exclusive authorities.
The source emphasized that the state will take all necessary measures to protect civilians, ensure freedom of movement, preserve social peace, and uphold the rule of law in accordance with its constitutional mandate.
