Yemeni Central Bank Suspends Licenses of Three Exchange Companies

Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:

The Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen has issued a decision to suspend the licenses granted to three Yemeni exchange companies.

The decision was based on the powers vested in the Governor under several laws in force in Yemen, governing the operations of the Central Bank, banks, exchange businesses, and regulations related to combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

The Central Bank stated that the decision was also informed by a report submitted by the Banking Supervision Sector, and was taken in consideration of the public interest.

According to the decision, the licenses of Al-Amari Exchange Company, Al-Muflehi Exchange Company, and Al-Jadahi Exchange Establishment have been suspended, and their premises ordered to be closed.

The decision takes effect from the date of its issuance, with the relevant authorities instructed to implement it immediately and notify the concerned parties.

The move comes as part of efforts to strengthen oversight of Yemen’s exchange sector and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
