Police confirmed that 14 suspects have been arrested in connection with the case, ranging in age from 18 to 50. Among those detained is a minibus driver found in possession of a carton containing 18 Nokia button-style mobile phones and four Huawei phones, as well as a motorcycle driver with a direct link to the crime.

Security agencies said search, intelligence-gathering, and investigative procedures are still ongoing, stressing that security teams are exerting intensive efforts to uncover all those involved and clarify the circumstances of the incident, in preparation for referring the suspects to the competent judicial authorities to face punishment in accordance with the law.

Police noted that the terrorist crime targeted innocent civilians, most of whom were children, women, and the elderly. They pointed out that the victims included the child martyr Hisham Mohammed Ahmed Abdullah (5 years old), and that a number of women and children were injured after they had just left school exams at schools near the site of the attack.
