STC Forces Storm New Intelligence Headquarters in Aden and Tighten Control

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Journalist Fares Al-Himyari, Yemen correspondent for China’s Xinhua News Agency, revealed details of a raid carried out by Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces on the headquarters of the newly formed Central State Security Agency located in the Ma’ashiq presidential area of Aden.

According to two sources who spoke to Al-Himyari, STC forces stormed the intelligence compound and seized full control of it. The facility previously served as the offices of the National Security and Political Security services before they were merged.

The building includes a central intelligence operations room, vital facilities, and residential quarters for the agency’s leadership.

In early 2024, a decision was issued to merge the Political Security Organization, National Security Agency, and intelligence units affiliated with the STC, the Presidential Guard, and the Giants Brigades into a single body named the “Central State Security Agency.”

Just three days ago, a presidential decree appointed a chairman and deputy chairman for the new agency.

Despite this, STC forces remain stationed inside the headquarters following the raid, with no signs of withdrawal as of yet.
