Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, a member of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, affirmed that the attacks in the Red Sea have proven to the entire world that the Houthis represent an international threat that extends beyond Yemen’s borders, and their repercussions have affected the interests of Germany and its partners.

The Yemeni Presidential Council member warned against neglecting the situation in Yemen, which could pose a significant danger to regional and international security, emphasizing the importance of continued German engagement and attention to the path of supporting peace and stability.

During his meeting with the German Federal Republic’s Ambassador to Yemen, Thomas Schneider, Al-Alimi called for enhanced security coordination and support for the capacities of the Yemeni Coast Guard forces.

The meeting also discussed the latest developments in Yemen, the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in economic and security reforms, and alleviating the severity of the humanitarian crisis caused by the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime.

Dr. Al-Alimi praised the distinguished bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and Germany’s continued support for Yemen in the humanitarian and development fields, pointing to the historical dimension of this support and its tangible impact on improving citizens’ livelihoods and implementing numerous development projects, including the recent fishing harbor project in Aden.
