Yemeni Scholars Authority Denounces Houthi Displacement of Sheikh Al-Raidhi and His Students from Al-Sunnah Mosque in Sana’a

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Yemeni Scholars Authority (Hay’at Ulama’ al-Yaman) denounced the crime committed by the Houthis of displacing Sheikh Abdulbasit Al-Raidhi and his students from Al-Sunnah Mosque and their residence in the Sa’wan area of the capital, Sana’a.
In a statement received by “Yemen Monitor,” the Authority considered the forced displacement a new episode in the series of sectarian targeting and exclusion practiced by the Houthis to subject mosques to the dominance of an alien ideology that contradicts the values of religion and demolishes the foundations of the nation.
The Authority stated that “the Houthi militia has desecrated the houses of God, turning many mosques into military barracks or resting places for drug use, thus denying the identity of Yemeni society and its ancient Arab and Islamic heritage.”
The Authority held the Houthi militia fully responsible for this heinous crime and its resulting serious social and religious repercussions. It demanded the immediate return of Sheikh Abdulbasit Al-Raidhi and his students to their mosque and residence, ensuring their safety and the full exercise of their rights, foremost among them the freedom of preaching and religious education.
