In a Horrific Crime: Houthi Leader in Amran Kills His Niece

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
A Houthi leader in Amran Governorate (northern Yemen) beat his niece to death, causing her to bleed from her nose and ears before succumbing to her injuries.
Local sources told Yemen Monitor that Yousef Mohammed Jaafar, who was appointed by the Houthi militia as Deputy Director of Security in Bani Suraim District, brutally assaulted his niece inside their home, causing severe bleeding from her nose and ears. She died hours later from her injuries.
The sources explained that the girl was an orphan, and that her uncle had forced her to marry his son. They added that the Houthi official ordered one of his female relatives to wash, shroud, and bury the girl in the village cemetery, then left for Sana’a without any action being taken against him.
Amran Governorate has recently witnessed a sharp rise in family-related murders committed by fighters and leaders of the Houthi group.
