The Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, affirmed that the legacy of the October 14 Revolution will remain present in the conscience and awareness of Yemeni generations, as a symbol of the struggle for freedom and independence, and an embodiment of the values of dignity and national sovereignty.
In a speech delivered on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the glorious October 14 Revolution, Al-Alimi stated that the revolution was not a fleeting event in history, but rather a pivotal moment that restored the will and voice of the Yemeni people, and was a rebirth for a homeland that resisted tyranny and colonialism in both the North and the South.
The Chairman of the Council added that the Council and the government are committed to the principle of national partnership as a steadfast choice to achieve the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security, peace, and development, emphasizing that the Southern issue will remain a central focus in any comprehensive political solution that ensures justice, equal citizenship, and enhances opportunities for resilience and state stability.
Al-Alimi clarified that the government, in cooperation with the Central Bank of Yemen, is proceeding with the implementation of the economic reform program, which has positively impacted the improvement of the national currency’s exchange rate and the stability of essential commodity prices. He also indicated the start of disbursing employee salaries and scheduling salary arrears as part of a comprehensive plan to improve the living situation.
Al-Alimi concluded his speech by affirming that Aden will remain the capital of the state and a stronghold of enlightenment and the spirit of resistance, and that the values of October will continue to be a beacon guiding generations towards a future of freedom, sovereignty, and sustainable development.
