Taiz Governor Orders Removal of All Non-Compliant Gas and Petrol Stations

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The Governor of Taiz Governorate, Nabil Shamsan, issued directives this evening for the removal of all non-compliant gas and petrol stations in the districts of Al-Mudhaffar, Al-Qahirah, and Salah. He also emphasized that no new licenses are to be granted without his prior and direct approval.
The Governor stressed the need for immediate and firm implementation of these directives. He instructed the general managers of the concerned districts, the Director General of Police, the Director General of the Public Works Office, the Director General of the Gas Company Office, and the Director General of the Oil Company to take urgent action to halt operations at the gas station currently being constructed in the Saelat Al-Qamt area.
These directives come as part of efforts to regulate the petroleum and gas derivatives sector and reduce haphazard development, given the risk to residents and property posed by non-compliant stations. The measures also aim to ensure adherence to professional safety standards, as well as engineering and environmental requirements at sites for selling and storing oil and gas derivatives.
The Governor confirmed that this step is part of a comprehensive plan to control the market and regulate the sector in a way that safeguards the safety of citizens and achieves transparency and compliance with the law.
