Taiz Records 198 Breast Cancer Cases Since Start of the Year
Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
Al-Amal Cancer Treatment Center in Taiz announced the registration of 198 new cases of breast cancer from the beginning of the current year until the end of August 2025. These cases are part of a total of 1,269 new cancer cases identified during the same period.
In a statement, the Center clarified that the total number of cancer cases registered with them since its establishment in 2008 until August 2025 has reached 14,766 cases, noting that these figures reflect a noticeable increase in incidence rates, both locally and globally.
The statement cited World Health Organization (WHO) reports confirming that breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, with over 2.3 million new cases registered annually.
Al-Amal Center called on various media outlets, journalistic institutions, television channels, and news websites to actively contribute to the “Pink October” campaign. This campaign aims to enhance community awareness about the importance of early detection and encourage women to undergo periodic screenings, stressing that early detection raises the recovery rate to over 90%.
