Hebrew Media: 22 Injured, Including Two in Critical Injuries, after a Drone Launched from Yemen Crashes

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Hebrew media reported that 22 people were injured, including two in critical condition, after a drone launched from Yemen crashed and exploded in a tourist area in the city of Eilat, southern “Israel.”
Explosions and rising smoke were reported in the city, and casualties were airlifted from Eilat to central Israeli hospitals by helicopters.
Israeli occupation police said that the drone crashed in central Eilat, causing injuries and material damage, and that they are conducting a field assessment of the situation.
For its part, the Israeli occupation army stated that it attempted to intercept the drone launched from Yemen toward Eilat before it crashed.
Israeli Army Radio said that the drone flew at a low altitude, making it difficult for the Iron Dome to intercept.
The newspaper Israel Hayom reported that two Iron Dome interceptor missiles failed to shoot down the drone.
Channel 13 in Israel indicated that the Air Force will investigate the delay in detecting the drone and the failure to shoot it down.
