Al-Alimi: Reforms and Transparency are a Guarantee for Continued International Support and National Unity

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, affirmed on Saturday that strengthening national unity and proceeding with comprehensive reforms represent a cornerstone for the legitimacy of the state and a guarantee for the continuation of international economic and humanitarian support for Yemen.
This came during his meeting in the interim capital, Aden, with the Presidency of the Shura Council, headed by Dr. Ahmed Obaid bin Daghr and members of the council, as well as with the Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, and his deputies.
Al-Alimi pointed to the reform measures already achieved in the fields of monetary policy and the independence of the Central Bank, stressing the importance of completing the remaining requirements in revenues, governance, transparency, and accountability. He also highlighted the role of state institutions, along with the Shura and Consultation bodies, in protecting agreements and building trust among national components.
He further stressed the need for a unified national discourse that strengthens the idea of national cohesion and directs efforts toward the decisive battle against the Houthi coup. He reaffirmed the commitment of security agencies to uncover the killers of Aftehan Al-Mashhari, Director of the Cleaning Fund in Taiz, turning the crime into a rallying point for national consensus against chaos and violence.
The President also praised the pivotal role of Yemen’s brothers in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, noting their keenness on maintaining the unity of the Presidential Leadership Council and the cohesion of the national front, as well as their economic and development interventions, which he described as a “safety valve” under the current circumstances.
For their part, the heads and members of the Shura and Consultation and Reconciliation bodies renewed their full support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening national consensus, supporting the comprehensive reform program, combating corruption, and entrenching the values of national partnership.
