Massive Protests in Taiz Over Assassination of Cleaning and Improvement Fund Executive Director

Hundreds of citizens and employees of the Cleaning and Improvement Fund in Taiz demonstrated in a massive protest in the city center today, Saturday, to express their anger and condemnation of the assassination of the fund’s Executive Director, Afnan Al-Mashhari.
Protesters held signs calling for the swift arrest of the perpetrators and their subjection to justice. They chanted slogans condemning the crime and holding the local authority leadership responsible for the deteriorating security situation in the city.
Participants affirmed that continued disregard for their demands would lead to an escalation of protests in the coming days in an effort to achieve justice for the victim. They stressed their determination to continue applying pressure until their demands are met.
