The Socotra Wildlife Association organized special activities to mark World Raptor birds Day, including field visits to Khor Sarhin, Khor Shouq, and Khor Dibnah, with active participation from experts, tour guides, and environmental enthusiasts.
The event featured scientific lectures delivered by Dr. Salem Ghanem and Mr. Arslan Amin, who highlighted the ecological importance of raptors in maintaining environmental balance. They also discussed the challenges these birds face and the measures needed to protect them in the Socotra Archipelago.
The association’s Secretary-General, Abdulaziz bin Qablan, noted that the event reflects Socotra’s commitment to actively participating in global efforts to protect raptors. He emphasized their vital role in sustaining ecosystems and pointed to the association’s efforts in raising community and tourism awareness about the importance of conserving these species.
