Heavy Rain Continues in Shabwah, With Flash Floods Sweeping Away Three Cars

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
Shabwah governorate in Yemen continues to be affected by a rainy weather system that began in mid-August.
The government media office in Shabwah reported that heavy rain fell on the city of Ataq and several other districts, accompanied by flash floods in several major valleys.
The floods reportedly swept away three cars in the Al-Rawdah, Al-Saeed, and Jarddan districts. No human casualties were reported as all passengers were rescued.
Strong winds also caused damage to part of the electricity grid in the Omqeen Valley in the Al-Rawdah district.
Local authorities in the districts are currently working to assess the damage and take emergency measures to deal with the aftermath of the rain and floods.
The early warning center in Aden has warned citizens to stay away from valleys and low-lying areas, urging them to take necessary precautions during thunderstorms.
