Security sources in the Shabwa governorate have reported a new human smuggling incident along the Yemeni coast. Security forces spotted a boat carrying a large number of people from Horn of Africa countries.
Police noted that the boat, which arrived Tuesday morning at the Radhum coast, was operated by four Somali nationals and was carrying 70 Ethiopian migrants.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the boat dropped off the groups of migrants in the Al-Ain area within the Al-Nasheima coastal site before security services began taking legal action.
Authorities have started legal procedures against everyone involved in the operation, including the boat captains and the illegal migrants, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations for such cases.
