UN Warns of Yemen’s Humanitarian Crisis Worsening Amid Funding Shortfall

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The United Nations has issued a stark warning over the deepening humanitarian crisis in Yemen, citing severe funding shortages that are jeopardizing the lives of millions.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), at least 8.4 million Yemenis lack access to basic healthcare, while 2.2 million people are without essential water and sanitation services.
The statement also highlighted that 1.8 million women and girls are deprived of reproductive health care, further exposing vulnerable groups to heightened risks.
Adding to the crisis, 75 humanitarian projects targeting the most at-risk communities have been suspended due to insufficient funding.
UN officials stressed that the continued decline in financial support threatens to push Yemen into an even deeper humanitarian catastrophe. They urged the international community to step up contributions to prevent a wider disaster.
