Cairo–Aden Yemenia Airways Flights Diverted to Djibouti Due to Poor Weather

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Yemenia Airways flights IY603 and IY613 failed to land at Aden International Airport on Tuesday due to deteriorating weather conditions in the city, which affected the aircrafts’ ability to land safely.

Air navigation sources explained that reduced visibility caused by turbulent weather forced aviation authorities to divert both flights to Djibouti International Airport as a precautionary measure to ensure passenger safety.

This disruption comes amid ongoing operational issues at Aden Airport since the beginning of this month, with several passengers complaining of delays and cancellations of flights due to unstable weather conditions.

So far, no official statements have been issued by Aden Airport authorities or Yemenia Airways regarding the rescheduling of the diverted flights, adding further uncertainty to the city’s air traffic operations.
