Sources: Houthis Launch Arrest Campaign in Rada’a, Al-Bayda; City Surrounded and Home Raids Imminent
Yemen Monitor – Newsroom
Local sources have reported that Houthi forces launched a large-scale arrest campaign in the city of Rada’a, located in Al-Bayda Governorate, amid an escalating security crackdown.
According to the sources, the Houthis have surrounded the city and established numerous checkpoints at its entrances and within neighborhoods, effectively restricting civilian movement. The group is reportedly preparing to storm several homes, targeting individuals suspected of opposing their rule or having ties to resistance groups.
The motive behind the campaign remains unclear, but it comes amid rising tensions in central Yemen, where sporadic clashes and acts of resistance against Houthi control have intensified in recent weeks.
Residents expressed concerns over potential arbitrary arrests, forced disappearances, and violations of privacy and property. Activists warn that such actions could further inflame the humanitarian situation in a region already burdened by conflict and economic hardship.
No official comment has been issued by the Houthis regarding the incident as of this report.
