Red Sea Ignites: Injuries and Missing Guards in Second Houthi Attack on Commercial Tanker

Yemen Monitor/ Hudaidah/ Special:
A Liberian-flagged cargo ship reportedly came under fire on Monday in the Red Sea, resulting in two security guards injured and two others missing. This attack occurred just after Yemeni Houthis sank another ship in a similar assault.
Earlier, the Houthis claimed they attacked the Greek cargo ship, MV Magic Seas, also Liberian-flagged, with drones, missiles, rockets, and small arms fire on Sunday. This forced its 22-member crew to abandon the vessel.
These two attacks have raised concerns about a renewed Houthi campaign against shipping, which could once again draw US and Western forces into the region. This is especially pertinent after the administration of US President Donald Trump targeted the rebels in a major airstrike campaign.
The private security firm AMBREY reported the latest attack, which took place on Monday evening in the Red Sea, providing details about the injured and missing security guards. It added that the vessel was heading north towards the Suez Canal when it was fired upon by men in small boats and bomb-laden drones. The security guards on board returned fire.
The company stated that “the ship’s engines were disabled, and AMBREY noted that the vessel began to drift.”
