Hudaidah Ablaze with Israeli Airstrikes… Tensions in the Red Sea Near Breaking Point
Yemen Monitor – Hudaidah – Special Report:
Explosions were heard across Hudaidah Governorate, western Yemen, late Sunday into Monday, as Houthi media reported Israeli airstrikes targeting the city.
Residents told Yemen Monitor that airstrikes struck the ports of Hudaidah, Al-Salif, and Ras Issa, all located on Yemen’s western coast.
On Sunday evening, the Israeli military issued a warning calling for the evacuation of three Yemeni ports and the Ras Kathib power station, in preparation for strikes on infrastructure under Houthi control in western Yemen.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that Israeli forces had also attacked the Galaxy Leader, a vessel seized by the Houthis in 2023, which Israel claims has since been used as a base for Houthi maritime operations.
Gallant added: “As I have warned before — the law of Yemen is the law of Tehran.”
