Israel: Missile Fired from Yemen “Likely” Intercepted

Yemen Monitor | Newsroom:

The Israeli military said on Saturday that it had “likely succeeded in intercepting” a missile launched from Yemen toward Israel.

Israel had previously threatened the Iran-aligned Yemeni Houthi movement with a naval and aerial blockade if the attacks continued.

The Houthi group claims its attacks are in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

Since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza in October 2023, the Houthis — who control large parts of Yemen — have been launching missiles and drones at Israel and targeting shipping in the Red Sea, causing disruptions to global trade.

Most of the missiles and drones launched by the Houthis have either been intercepted or failed to reach their targets, and Israel has carried out a series of retaliatory strikes.
