MSF Opens Cholera Treatment Center in Al-Mokha, Southwestern Yemen

Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:
Médecins Sans Frontières – MSF (Doctors Without Borders) has opened a cholera treatment center in the city of Al-Mokha, located in Taiz Governorate in southwestern Yemen, on June 5, in response to a concerning rise in cases of acute watery diarrhea.
The organization stated that the center initially had only two beds but expanded to 17 within a week, with the capacity to increase to 20 or more depending on the situation’s development.
MSF confirmed it remains on high alert to respond to any surge in suspected cases, emphasizing the urgent need for large-scale interventions in the water and sanitation sectors to prevent a wider outbreak of the disease in the coming period.
