Yemen Monitor/ Moscow/ Agencies:

All Russian sailors from the oil tanker “S.V. Pearls”, which was damaged in late April by US’s airstrikes on the port of Ras Isa, have departed Sana’a to Amman, a representative of the Russian Embassy in Yemen told TASS news agency.

“All Russians   crew members of the S.V. Pearls have left Yemen,” he stated.

According to the official, 19 Russian sailors were on board the ship. They departed for the Jordanian capital on May 25 while their tanker remains in Yemeni territorial waters.

Earlier, Russia’s Chargé d’Affaires in Yemen, Evgeny Kudrov, said that one of the three injured Russian sailors had been hospitalized in the Houthi-controlled capital, Sana’a. Subsequently, the ship’s owner evacuated all three sailors to Moscow.

The US began intensive strikes on Houthi targets on March 15 “to protect US’s interests and ensure freedom of navigation.” In early May, the Washington administration and the Houthis reached a ceasefire agreement through Omani mediation.
