World Federation of Migrants Praises Egypt’s Cooperation in Supporting Yemeni Community

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The World Federation of Migrants expressed its appreciation to the Arab Republic of Egypt, represented by Minister of Interior Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq and Member of Parliament Dr. Mostafa Bakry, for their prompt response to its appeals regarding the situation of Yemenis residing in Egypt.
The Federation stated that this cooperation is part of ongoing efforts between the Federation and MP Mostafa Bakry, which resulted in the release of a number of Yemeni detainees—reflecting Egypt’s commitment to supporting Yemenis amid the difficult circumstances they are facing.
The response also included amendments to the residency system for Yemenis, with residency permits extended from three months to a full year. This marks a significant breakthrough for the Yemeni community, providing legal and social stability and enabling them to lead more normal lives.
In a statement on its official website, the Federation affirmed that these measures reflect Egypt’s longstanding solidarity with fellow Arab nations and praised MP Mostafa Bakry’s role in conveying the Yemeni community’s plight to the relevant authorities.
It is worth noting that the World Federation of Yemeni Migrants, headquartered in the Netherlands, is a non-governmental organization with over fifty branches worldwide.
