Yemenia Airways Reduces Hajj Ticket Prices to $680 Under Government Directives

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Yemenia Airways has approved a reduction in Hajj ticket prices for the 1447 AH Hajj season, during a meeting held in the temporary capital Aden, chaired by the Chairman of the Board, Captain Nasser Mahmoud. The move aims to ease the financial burden on citizens.

According to the decision, the Hajj ticket price for this season has been set at $680 USD, lower than last season’s prices, in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Transport, Mohsen Al-Omari.

The Chairman of the Board confirmed that the decision stems from the company’s commitment to considering the difficult economic conditions faced by citizens, especially given the challenges confronting pilgrims to the Holy House of God. He emphasized the company’s dedication to continuing its services to all Yemenis and working to overcome difficulties despite operational and financial challenges.

For his part, the Deputy General Manager for Commercial Affairs, Abdullah Saleh, explained that the reduction comes despite a significant increase in operating costs due to regional developments and tensions in the area, which have directly impacted fuel prices, ground service fees, and handling charges at foreign airports. He noted that the increase in these costs has exceeded 100%.

He added that the company seeks to strike a balance between its operational obligations and its national responsibility, ensuring the continuation of its services and easing the burden on travelers.
