Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
Hebrew media reported on Saturday morning that the Israeli army detected missile launches from Yemen toward the south of the country for the first time since the start of the American-Israeli war on Iran, which has entered its twenty-ninth day.
The official Israeli Broadcasting Authority stated, “The army detected the launching of missiles from Yemen toward southern Israel for the first time since the beginning of this war.” It mentioned that sirens sounded in the cities of Dimona, Beersheba, and Eilat after the missile launches from Yemen were detected.
For its part, Hebrew Channel 12 reported that the Israeli army intercepted a missile launched from Yemen toward areas in the south of the country. There was no immediate comment from the Houthi group in Yemen regarding what was reported by the Israeli media.
However, this comes hours after the Yemeni Houthi group threatened, on Friday evening, direct military intervention should any other alliances join the United States and Israel against Iran, or if the Red Sea is used to carry out operations against the latter.
The military spokesman for the group’s forces, Yahya Saree, said in a video statement: “Our hands are on the trigger for direct military intervention, in the event that any other alliances join America and Israel against Iran and the Axis of Jihad and Resistance, or if the Red Sea is used to carry out hostile operations by Washington and Tel Aviv against Tehran, and against any Muslim country.”
The statement also linked the group’s military intervention to “the continuation of the escalation against Iran and the Axis of Jihad and Resistance, and as required by the theater of military operations.” It warned “against any unjust measures aimed at tightening the siege on the Yemeni people.”
Since February 28, Israel and the United States have been launching an aggression against Iran, which has resulted in hundreds of deaths, including Khamenei and prominent security officials, while Tehran responds by launching missiles and drones toward Israel.
Iran also targets what it describes as American interests in Arab countries, which has caused deaths and injuries and damaged civilian objects—actions that have been condemned by the targeted countries.
