Israeli Report: Houthis Prepare To Join The War After Eid Al-Fitr Holiday

Yemen Monitor/ Newsroom/ Agencies:

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority (Kan), quoting regional security officials, reported that Iran and Hezbollah are escalating their pressure on the Houthis in Yemen to join the war against the U.S. and Israel, noting the possibility of the group entering the conflict following the end of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Sources within the forces opposing the Houthis told the Israeli Broadcasting Authority that the group has recently strengthened its presence in the coastal city of Hudaidah, which may indicate preparations to enter the military campaign starting next Monday. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding these claims.

The leader of the group, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, had previously stated that his group is ready to respond militarily to developments in the region, declaring that “all options at the military level are possible,” and affirming his support for Iran, Lebanon, and Palestine.

For his part, Yemeni Prime Minister Shayea al-Zindani warned the Houthis against taking any military action that serves the Iranian agenda.

It is noteworthy that the US-Israeli strikes on Iran began on February 28th and, according to reports, resulted in the death of 1,300 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Tehran responded by launching missile and drone attacks targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting U.S. military assets.
