Yemen Announces Thursday as the Completion of Ramadan and Friday as the First Day of Eid al-Fitr

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Ministry of Endowments and Guidance in the Yemeni government announced that tomorrow, Thursday, will complete the holy month of Ramadan, and that Friday will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr, after the crescent moon of Shawwal could not be sighted.

In a statement received by the official Yemeni News Agency, the ministry explained that the committee responsible for moon sighting—comprising astronomers, judges, and scholars—was unable to observe the Shawwal crescent on Wednesday evening. Therefore, Ramadan will be completed as a full 30 days, making Thursday, March 19, 2026, the final day of the blessed month.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Bahrain also announced on Wednesday that Thursday would complete Ramadan, and Friday would mark the first day of Eid al-Fitr, after the Shawwal crescent moon was not sighted.
