8 Civilians, Including Children, Killed in Houthi Shelling in Hajjah

Eight civilians, including children, were killed and others injured on Sunday following a missile strike by the Houthi group targeting a gathering of citizens in Hajjah (northwestern Yemen).

Local sources in government-held areas of Hajjah province stated that the Houthi group targeted a gathering of citizens with a missile strike while they were sitting for Iftar before sunset today in the Khayran district.

According to the sources, the victims—both dead and wounded—include children who were present around the Iftar table during the shelling. The sources noted that the death toll is expected to rise due to the severity of critical injuries.

The Yemeni government controls the districts of Midi, Hayran, and parts of Haradh, where forces of the Fifth Military Region of the Yemeni Army are deployed.
