Yemeni Transport Minister Confirms Government’s Move to Resolve Legal Issues Hindering “Land Transport”

The Minister of Transport in the Yemeni government, Mr. Mohsen Haidara al-Amri, affirmed the Ministry’s keenness to address the duplication of tasks between the Land Transport Authority and the relevant delegated bodies.

The Minister emphasized the closure of illegal land ports in accordance with Government Decree No. (11) of 2026, noting that work is underway to form a joint committee comprising the relevant authorities to organize the operation of these ports, monitor their performance, and re-issue licenses according to the prevailing laws and regulations.

This came during Minister al-Amri’s inspection tour on Sunday in Aden, where he reviewed the workflow at the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs and held a meeting with the Authority’s leadership. He also visited the construction site of the Central Passenger Transport Station in the Al-Arish area of Khormaksar, Aden, which is being built on an area estimated at approximately 33,000 square meters.

The Minister of Transport stressed the Ministry’s endeavor to advance and upgrade the performance of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs by increasing the efficiency of institutional work and strengthening coordination with institutions under the land transport sector and transport company owners. This aims to contribute to developing the Authority’s facilities, improving the level of services provided to citizens, and enhancing performance efficiency in this vital sector.

Furthermore, His Excellency the Minister of Transport inspected the construction project of the Central Passenger Transport Station in Aden, listening to an explanation from the Chairman of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs regarding the project’s components and implementation stages.
