Yemeni Government Warns Houthis Against Engaging in Military Actions Serving “Iran’s Agenda”

Yemen Monitor — Newsroom:

The Yemeni government has warned the Houthi group against engaging in any military movements or adventures that it says serve “Iran’s agenda,” stressing that using Yemeni territory as a platform to target neighboring countries or international interests constitutes a hostile act that harms Yemen’s interests and national security.

In an official statement, the government said dragging Yemen into regional conflicts would only deepen instability, holding the group responsible for any consequences that may arise from such actions amid escalating tensions in the region.

It also renewed its call for the international community to take a firm stance against what it described as repeated Iranian violations of state sovereignty, and to deter any behavior that could widen the scope of confrontation, warning that the cost of escalation would be severe for both the region and the world.

The Yemeni government affirmed that achieving regional stability requires respect for state sovereignty, an end to support for armed groups, and strict adherence to international law.

The government held the Iranian regime fully responsible for the escalation and its repercussions, considering that its continued policy of expanding confrontation through its tools and proxies undermines the security of international waterways, threatens global energy supplies, and exposes the peoples of the region to the risk of a broader conflict.

Six Arab countries — Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Jordan — witnessed explosions and interceptions of Iranian missiles since Saturday morning.

Earlier on Saturday, Israel and the United States launched a sustained attack against Iran, targeting the capital Tehran as well as the cities of Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, and Kermanshah, while Iran announced the start of a large-scale attack using missiles and drones.

The Israeli army and Hebrew media reported that the attack targeted dozens of military sites, as well as Iranian leadership figures, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian.
