Woman Injured by Houthi Sniper Fire in Taiz

Yemen Monitor/ Newsroom:
A woman was injured on Saturday by sniper fire from the Houthi armed group while in the Wadi Sala area, east of Taiz city. This incident is the latest in a series of attacks targeting civilians in the southwestern governorate of Yemen.
Local sources reported that the citizen, Katiba Ahmed Ismail, was shot by a sniper stationed in the vicinity of the Mohammed Ali Othman School. She sustained severe injuries while present in the area and was rushed to the Military Hospital, where her condition is described as critical.
In a related escalation, Houthi forces targeted road construction equipment in the Najd Sharia area of the Same’ district using a drone, according to the official Yemeni news agency, Saba.
Sources stated that the drone strike targeted a vital service project. This attack is part of a broader wave of assaults across various parts of Taiz that have resulted in multiple civilian casualties. These recurring strikes on residential neighborhoods and infrastructure projects have heightened fears among the local population regarding the continued targeting of non-combatant zones.
