UK Condemns Raid on “Aden al-Ghad” Newspaper, Terms it Serious Violation of Press Freedom

YEMEN MONITOR / NEWSROOM:
The British Embassy in Yemen has issued a stern condemnation regarding the storming of the Aden al-Ghad newspaper offices in Aden, describing the incident as a “serious violation of press freedom” and a direct assault on media operations.
In an official statement, the Embassy emphasized that the protection of the press is a cornerstone of any functional society. It warned that targeting media professionals serves only to “undermine the voice of the people” and obstruct the delivery of truth to the public.
The Embassy called for an immediate end to such practices, stressing the urgent need to ensure the safety of all journalists and the security of their headquarters. The statement concluded by reaffirming the necessity of upholding the freedom of the press in accordance with international laws and standards.
