Yemeni Prime Minister Dr. Shay’a Mohsen Al-Zandani discussed, on Wednesday, with the World Bank’s Regional Director for Egypt, Yemen, and Djibouti, Stefan Gimber, the economic priorities of the Yemeni government.
The meeting reviewed the government’s priorities in the current phase, particularly in the areas of economic and financial reforms, institutional capacity building, and ways to ensure the continuity and development of cooperation with the World Bank in a manner that contributes to supporting efforts toward economic stability and recovery.
The meeting also addressed ongoing and future projects and programs being implemented by the World Bank in Yemen.
The Prime Minister affirmed the government’s keenness to strengthen its partnership with the World Bank, considering it one of the most important international financial institutions supporting Yemen.
For his part, Gimber congratulated the Prime Minister on assuming his new position, wished him success in his duties, and expressed his anticipation of working together during the coming phase.
