Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Brigadier General Mohammed Musaed Al-Amir, Deputy Interior Minister for the Security and Police Sector, affirmed that the Ministry of Interior is proceeding with measures to establish security and stability in the temporary capital, Aden. He stressed that terrorist operations will not hinder the state’s heading towards unifying the security and military institutions and imposing the rule of law.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Brigadier General Al-Amir revealed the establishment of a joint operations body involving the Ministries of Defense and Interior. This aims to enhance the level of field coordination to secure the city of Aden. He indicated that the city is currently witnessing intensified security measures to ensure stability and protect public peace.
Regarding organizational efforts, the Deputy Minister clarified that work is ongoing at a rapid pace to integrate all military and security units and formations previously established outside the framework of the state, and to reformulate them within the structures of the two ministries. Brigadier General Al-Amir described the unification decisions as “courageous,” confirming that the Supreme Military and Security Committee has approved a package of organizational procedures to restructure the armed and security forces. This ensures the unification of military and security decision-making and its subordination to the constitution.
The Deputy Minister addressed the terrorist incident that targeted the commander of the Second Giants Brigade, Brigadier General Hamdi Shukri, confirming that security agencies have launched their investigations to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice. He reiterated that such criminal acts will not deter the security and military institutions from performing their national duty to consolidate state authority and confront all challenges.
