Commander of Giants Forces “Hamdi Shukri” Survives Assassination Attempt in Aden

Brigadier General Hamdi Shukri, commander of the Second Brigade of the pro-government Giants Forces, survived an assassination attempt targeting his convoy this morning following a car bomb explosion in the northwestern part of Aden city.
Local sources reported that an explosives-laden car targeted the convoy of Hamdi Shukri, which consisted of four vehicles—three military units and a fourth “Prado” SUV—while passing through the entrance of Ja’awala Road.
The sources added that the explosion resulted in the death of two of his escorts, Hussam Adel and Saber Al-Zaidi, who were aboard an armored vehicle, in addition to injuring others with varying degrees of wounds.
According to the sources, the blast caused two military vehicles and a car to burn completely, while Shukri survived as he was riding in the fourth vehicle in the convoy at the time of the explosion.
Aden is witnessing a widespread security alert following the incident, while security agencies have not disclosed any details about the event or who is behind the explosion.
