Shocking Facts… Revealing Secret Prisons and Grave Violations Inside Al-Dhabba Port

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Satellite TV channels have documented the existence of secret prisons inside Al-Dhabba oil port in Hadramawt Governorate, which were under the administration of Emirati forces. A number of local residents were detained in these facilities, which turned into sites of serious violations carried out outside any legal or judicial framework.
Zafran Zayed, a lawyer at Yemen’s Ministry of Human Rights, stated that there have been attempts to conceal a crime scene inside Al-Dhabba prison, which was under the control of Emirati forces, noting that these violations infringe upon the fundamental rights of detainees.
For his part, Yemeni Minister of Information Muammar Al-Eryani confirmed that the mission of the United Arab Emirates at Al-Dhabba Port was limited to securing the port. However, facts revealed its involvement in establishing and managing secret prisons inside the port, where detainees were subjected to torture and unlawful practices, representing a complete departure from Yemen’s state institutions.
Al-Eryani added that these violations constitute a flagrant breach of human rights, calling for an urgent and transparent investigation to hold all those involved accountable, provide justice for the victims, and ensure that such crimes are not repeated in the future.
These developments come amid growing human rights and popular demands to uncover the fate of forcibly disappeared persons and to put an end to the phenomenon of secret prisons run by foreign forces in Yemeni areas, according to Yemeni human rights sources.
