Tourism Activities Return to Socotra via Al-Ghaydah International Airport in Al-Mahrah

A tourist flight departed this morning from Al-Ghaydah International Airport in Al-Mahrah Governorate heading toward Socotra Governorate, following the reopening of the airport after a closure that lasted several years.
Mr. Ayman Salem Hawash, the General Representative for the governorates of Al-Mahrah and Socotra, saw off a number of tourists departing for Socotra. He emphasized that the resumption of flights reflects the state of security and stability currently experienced in Al-Mahrah and confirms the readiness of Al-Ghaydah International Airport to return to operation and receive flights.
Hawash explained that reopening the airport after years of suspension represents a pivotal step in normalizing conditions. He noted that it facilitates movement for both citizens and visitors, asserting that the governorate has become a safe environment prepared for tourism.
He further pointed out that operating tourist flights between Al-Mahrah and Socotra is a positive indicator of the revival of civil and tourism activity. He added that it embodies the efforts of the local authority leadership to enhance stability and support local development, thereby boosting visitor confidence and serving the economic interests of the governorate.
